Key Accountabilities:
Oman Shell has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Economist within a high performing economics team. The role will have a direct reporting line into the Country Economics Manager and will be part of the Oman Shell commercial organization.
More generally, as a Senior Economist in Oman Shell, you will be part of a team that aims to drive quality business decisions by serving as guardians of value, decision analysts, and trusted advisors throughout project maturation and delivery. You will be responsible for delivering robust economic evaluations in support of significant investment decisions.
As Senior Economist you will play a key integrator role, collaborating with a wide range of internal stakeholders. There will be opportunities to expand this role to collaborate with external counterparties and stakeholders in the Shell headquarter and regional offices.
The Senior Economist will work with project teams and will provide appropriate and robust economic analysis, deliver insights that protect and unlock value. We expect that you bring the capacity and willingness for detailed analytical work and the ability to translate those details into concise analysis and recommendations for decision makers.

Requirements:
We are looking for a dynamic career economist with a minimum of 10 years professional experience in petroleum upstream and midstream economics and decision analysis.
You have a demonstrated track record in exploration economics, full value chain analysis for existing assets – operated and non-operated - and new business developments, risk and uncertainty quantification techniques and value of information assessment, combined with applied knowledge of tax royalty and production sharing contracts, reserves reporting and business planning as well as building and maintaining economic models.
Equally important is that you have the communication skills and behaviours to work with internal and external stakeholders of different seniority levels.
You are an excellent relationship builder with strong influencing & stakeholder management skills and the ability to work in a diverse, cross-cultural environment.
Proficient, business fluent English skills are required.
