The entity focuses on non-traditional business. The Finance Manager (FM) shall partner General Manager (GM) in delivering the entity’s business target and realise business growth. Besides business delivery with compliance, the incumbent is expected to engage and maintain relations with various internal and external stakeholders. This position reports directly to FM Lubricants China, and meanwhile, is responsible to entity GM.
What is the role?
The role has accountability to deliver the full range of finance capability for required functional activities and independent business decision support with a proper control framework and high-quality performance management systems in place.
Being a trusted Business Partner of the entity GM and Management Team on financial matters and management of value/risk, keep abreast of market dynamics and changes.
Planning and Appraisal. Drive financial planning and appraisal. Generate timely Management Information (MI) to support decision making and achieving the business goal.
Governance, Assurance and Controls. Support Management Team to implement assurance programs, promote compliance culture and behaviour. Ensure that the risk-based control framework is implemented, and that sound controls are embedded, coordinate risk assessment and mitigation actions.
Accounting and Reporting. Ensure data integrity for all accounts and comply with PRC GAAP and reporting requirements by Laws and Shell Group.
Business development support. Conduct Finance review and challenge of investment proposals. Provide finance review and support for operating plans. Partner with Management Team on business plan formulation and implementation. Ensure cost discipline. Closely monitor related risks and mitigation when supporting rapid business growth.
ERP. Implement fit-for-purpose ERP to be effective in control, compliance, automation and efficiency.
Taxation. Ensure compliance of tax regulations/laws. Take appropriate approach to apply tax incentive/exemption programs granted by governments where applicable.
Treasury. Set up treasury policy and ensure an effective cash management is in place to support business operations/growth.
The role will have 2 direct reports at set-up stage.
What we need from you?
A broad range of skills/experience across different areas of business and corporate finance. Solid knowledge of control framework.
Demonstrated Finance functional leadership experience, including leading change.
A degree of personal maturity, in particular with regards to conflict management in order to effectively drive a counter-balancing finance view when required in certain cases of business pressure/safeguard long term company interest.
Strong interpersonal skills in managing the relationship with stakeholders and local government.
Personal Drive, resilience, agility, hands on mentality which are crucial for success.
A good mindset of End-to-End businesses value drivers.
Experience in ERP implementation is advantageous.
Fluency in both Chinese and English.
The work location is in Sai Ou Technical Park (赛欧科园).
