Description
The Senior Finance Process Improvement Professional analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable business process improvements. They evaluate moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Work assignments involve leveraging technical skills to simplify combining and transforming data to optimize business processes.
Responsibilities
Humana is seeking a Senior Finance Process Improvement Professional that will collaborate with the business and IT partners in developing solutions and alternative approaches to solve a given problem. They understand requirements in the broadest context of business problems and opportunities, having a broader perspective than one domain. They know and understand the business domain information (processes, rules, business data model) for one or more domains, and use this background to envision improvements and solutions. This role may also assist with integrations of mergers and acquisitions providing guidance on all aspects of the project to combine the operations and systems into Humana's.
Work with business stakeholders to understand a business problem in both depth and breadth, and then propose one or more solutions for the problem that addresses the need in a systemic and cross-domain fashion.
Co-design, guide, and support the implementation of solutions for business processes that meet the requirements of project owners and connect to upstream and downstream impacts.
Ability to utilize technology such as Power Query or macros to simplify combining and transforming data to optimize business processes.
Ensure that solution requirements are properly documented, such as use cases, user stories, process flow charts, screen mock-ups, test scenarios, and test cases.
Create and lead initiatives for special projects, developing a greater understanding of system and environmental issues in the process.
Work alongside the business to review and analyze results, assisting business areas with issue resolution.
Develop and maintain key relationships with all impacted business areas.
Initiate and develop process improvements. Present ideas to leadership.
Support improvement initiatives around month-end close, analytics, reconciliations and financial reporting processes.
Create methods for rethinking routine and optimization around the production and review of month-end journal entries, reports and analysis.
Work with RPA on ideation, creation and support of robotics initiatives.
Develop project plan for integration of mergers and acquisitions, monitoring progress, facilitating meetings, preparing reports to communicate the status of the project.
Manage internal and external data requests.
Work independently, effectively communicate and provide timely status updates.
Knowledge of processes and data, provide subject matter expertise
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Technology, Finance, Accounting or a related field
Prior finance experience
Advanced Excel proficiency and multi-dimensional databases
Strong technical, analytical, oral and written communication skill
Strong attention to detail
Must have accessibility to high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office (satellite internet service is NOT allowed for this role); and a minimum internet connection speed of 10M x 1M
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Business Administration or a related field
Power Query, Power BI
Knowledge of Hyperion SmartView, Oracle, SQL, VBA, SSRS
4 - 6 years previous health insurance industry experience working in a Finance/Accounting/System Support department

Additional Information
Human offers a flexible hybrid-home or hybrid-office work environment. Those located in the Louisville, KY area will be expected to work in the office at least one to two days a week. This role also offers a remote option if KY is not the primary stated of residence. The hours of this job will be on Eastern Time.
Vaccine Policy:

Work-At-Home Requirements:
WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.
Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
