Job Summary
The UPS Advanced Technology Group (ATG) is driving quantitative insights about the UPS network of today and tomorrow. The Quantitative Analyst position targets graduates with versatile skillsets in emerging technology areas. Project areas include building dynamic simulation models, developing and testing solution approaches to combinatorially difficult problems, applying machine learning to large-scale logistics problems, and prototyping innovative data visualizations. Project work will be matched to skillsets, strengths, and interests. 
Responsibilities
Develops analytical models and data visualizations to drive analytic insights
Interacts with cross-functional teams to model current operations processes and evaluate potential solutions
Develops dashboards/front-end prototype via UI/UX development techniques
Presents data insights and recommendations to key stakeholders
Preferences
Possesses effective knowledge in programming and algorithms
Demonstrates ability to translate research insights into product ideas and solutions, interpret requirements into design implementation and code effectively
Exhibits ability to work collaboratively and independently and interact/communicate effectively across business units and to different levels of management
Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Engineering, Statistics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
Master's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Computer Science, Human/Computer Interaction, Visual Analytics or related field
Experience in JavaScript (jQuery, node.js, Angular, typescript, webgl, d3 and any other frontend/backend related extensions for building optimized dashboards/web-applications)
Experience in UI/UX development (user research, user flow, wireframes, high-fidelity mock-up, demonstration of working prototype, etc)
Experience in Source control using Git, TFS, etc
Experience in UNIX based systems and Windows
Exposure to connecting frontend application to backend databases (both relational databases and NoSQL databases)
Minimum 1 year work experience or equivalent research assistantship 
Experience in Cloud-based platforms and services 
Experience in Cloud infrastructure and container-based deployment 
Experience in designing and managing REST API 
Experience in Unit testing using JUnit, NUnit, MOQ and related tools
