Description
The Senior Portfolio Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, prioritization, development, and implementation of initiatives that optimize the performance and resiliency of Humana's technology ecosystem. The right candidate applies techniques and portfolio management standards to ensure that initiatives within the portfolio deliver expected value and performance within the resources allocated.
Responsibilities
Come join our team in this exciting new role! Humana's IT organization is undergoing a multi-year transformation journey to develop a cloud-based and platform-centric technology ecosystem while transitioning to agile ways of working. A resilient infrastructure and process portfolio is foundational to the success of our transformation, and the Senior Portfolio Manager will help ensure we are effectively managing our investments. The Senior Portfolio Manager will report to the IT Chief of Staff, with a dotted-line relationship to the Chief Information Security Officer and Senior Vice President of IT Operations. This role will require strategic thinking, an eye for detail, strong communication and collaboration skills, and an ability to analyze and organize competing priorities.
Duties include:
Organize initiatives and programs based on IT strategy, strategic roadmap, available and prioritized budgets, and schedule changes
Ensure that appropriate financial and organizational support is being allocated in support of the organization's goals
Influence the organization's strategy and senior leaders' decisions
Make decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach to portfolio management, and work is performed without direction
Collaborate with leadership teams across IT, IT Finance and Corporate Strategy on oversight and management of the technology resiliency portfolio
Support an annual technology strategy and budget planning calendar process that is in synch with the corporate budgeting process, enabling multiple technology teams to plan together
Prepare data analyses and presentations in support of the IT Executive Team's periodic portfolio updates to the CEO and Board of Directors
Document project and portfolio data and perform analysis on a regular basis to ensure completeness and accuracy of information by partnering with technology leaders, project managers, and teams
Facilitate cross-functional alignment and visibility to the performance, progress, and interdependencies of the initiatives within the portfolio
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree; MBA desired but not required
At least three years of project or program management experience, with demonstrated increasing trend of project or program complexity
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Strong influence and problem-solving skills
Proven effectiveness leading in a team environment; leadership experience in a matrixed environment desired
Passion for continuous learning and improvement
