This position will report to the Vice President, Global Tax & Trade and will be responsible for leading Pure’s global indirect tax operation and support Pure’s go to market strategy. This role will also own various Trade areas of the business and must work closely with the Trade and Logistics teams. A critical function of this role is to develop strong cross functional relationships with various Pure stakeholders and become a trusted business adviser to support the expansion of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***..
Tax Department mission : Be seen as a trusted and strategic business partner supporting the company's growth efforts, driving operational efficiencies through the use of technologies and best practices, and, managing the company's risk, compliance and overall tax strategy, while supporting and elevating our tax team.
SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE...
Consulting and Tax planning
Assist with developing and evaluating indirect tax planning opportunities
Maintaining and communicating knowledge of past, present and potential future tax laws, regulations, rulings, procedures and court decisions
Work with internal policy team and external advisors supporting indirect tax policy initiatives
Work closely with the Logistics & Trade teams to address any global trade issues impacting our indirect tax compliance;
Partner with US & international tax teams and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure full tax integration
Work with Legal to review tax and trade contractual terms on Pure’s partner agreements.
Statutory responsibilities
Oversees and supports the VAT compliance teams located in Czech Republic to respond to audit requests.
Own the budget and relationship with Pure’s third party service provider who are engaged to prepare VAT returns
Tax Operations
Understand billing and reporting systems and provide system and invoicing requirements related to changing tax laws or business operations.
Assisting with managing relationships with outside tax consultants and regulatory authorities on an ongoing basis
Develop and own the trade tables that will be built in Salesforce allowing for the automation of various logistics fields in the customer quote.
Work with finance and accounting teams to implement and improve end-to-end tax process and procedures to mitigate risks
Business support
Be seen as a trusted advisor and business enabler by the business
Provide day-to-day operational guidance and timely address to cross-functional finance and business teams’ inquiries
Build relationships with the global business teams and understand their business and be a local POC for escalations, customer tax queries, etc.
Embed with the finance organization and NPI team, work closely with platform and product engineering teams to provide tax due diligence in supporting end-to-end full life cycle of product deployment, including but not limited to design review, testing, launch, tax functionality, reporting and compliance
Build and strengthen working relationship and scale with the growth of business teams to ensure integration with various business functions, bring tax awareness and champion tax requirements
Review Pure’s product and service offerings identifying proper taxation, trade implications, system requirements and provide strategic direction to the various stakeholders.
Provide strategic input into Pure’s supply chain and distribution model as needed
Assist in various ad hoc projects
Provide guidance around proper customs valuation methods and strategic direction on trade tariffs and opportunities to mitigate its impact;
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...
Required skills/experience:
Requires a BA or BS in Accounting, Finance, or similar. CPA, MST and/or JD preferred
A minimum of 10 years of experience in Big 4 and industry
A great communicator that can communicate effectively and build a team
Thrives in a high pace environment, and not afraid to roll up your sleeves to do the work
Must be willing and able to work in an open office, team environment.
