Job Description Responsible for optimizing revenue for NJ Division by analyzing our whole revenue stream, from meter read through billing. Position would work with Meter, Customer Service, Reveneue Integrity, and Corporate Revenue Management teams to analyze information from the various data collection systems (CC&B, AMI, Clevest, Sensus and Neptune), understanding how this data is translated into customer invoices, and identifying what prevents our systems from achieving higher billing accuracy. Also responsible for monitoring our Account Receivables position, dissecting between residential and commercial customers, and for monitoring payment plans in efforts to optimize overall collection process.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Develop analytical tools to analyze revenue, defining frequency of each specific analysis, categorizing the type of accounts we are servicing from a priority/opportunity standpoint
Develop a relevant set of KPI's that would reflect progress on revenue optimization. Assure automation of this set of metrics
Partner with Revenue Integrity team to reduce number of Pending Bills being generated by CC&B
Develop methodology to properly analyze Hi-Lo's being generated preventing actual reads from being utilized
Partner with Meter dept., assure that at least 98.5% of our consumption  is being accurately captured by our various systems
Understand root cause of estimated reads and develop methods to increase effective read rates
Develop processes to correct under-consumption  - due to zero reads, vacant properties, fraud/theft, defective meters (DR), lockwing and multi-unit systems  - in a systematic/pro-active way
Partner with Corporate Revenue Management to analyze our strategic meter accounts assuring accuracy of consumption and corrective actions to optimize their revenue
Partner with Corporate Revenue Management to develop reports to monitor Account Receivables across other BU as required
Monitor our customer Account Receivables situation, dissecting between residential and commercial customers. Present accurate aging situation by customer class.
Partner with Manager of Customer Operations, develop strategies to optimize collections from customers to minimize our Account Receivables positions
Monitor customers' Payment Plans identifying customers who are not subscribing to agreed parameters
Partner with other divisions Customer Service functions to develop programs to enhance our billing processes and collections.
Partner with Rates to provide required data requirements in our rates development process
Partner with Management to provide and analyze data relevant to business development efforts
Support Veolia NJ with advance analytics applications (eg Power BI) to easily digest large volumes of data to obtain valuable information. 
Qualifications Education/Equivalent
Bachelor degree in accounting or finance required
MBA Preferred
Work Experience Needed
Minimum of seven years of financial planning and analysis experience required.
Prior utility or service industry experience with high exposure to automated consumption networks highly desired
Special Skills/Abilities Needed:
 Working knowledge of company's Customer Care & Billing (CC&B) system
 Working knowledge of company's different consumption metering systems:
Advance Metering Infrastructure (AMI)
Vehicle Gateway Base station (VGB) (Drive by/Walk by)
Sensus' Regional Network Interface (RNI)
Neptune's Automated Meter Reading (AMR)
Clevest
Advanced level experience with MS Office suite
Ability to multi task, handling multiple deadlines, small projects, and technically challenging projects
Ability to prepare written technical reports and interact effectively and diplomatically with management and/or bargaining unit employees as well as regulators, consultants, municipal officials, health officers, customers, contractors, and the general public.
Well-developed quantitative and modeling skills, including the ability to undertake sophisticated mathematical/statistical analyses (standard deviations, bell curves, etc.) for assessment and projections/forecasts of potential problems (meter performance, theft, billing issues, etc.).
Strong analytical and statistical skills and ability to synthesize data and translate insights into relevant, usable, actionable, strategic and tactical recommendations essential
Must have strong interpersonal and excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to create and maintain accurate reports and records essential
Strategic mindset
Demonstrated project management skills
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
Ability to carry out job responsibilities with minimal supervision
