The Sr. Manager FP&A and Revenue Accounting is a member of Idorsia’s US finance team and will provide analytics and insights in support of brand product performance. 

n

 

n

The Sr. Manager serves in the lead role to standardize, manage, and ensure revenue accounting processes and reporting. Through a combination of process design, best practice development, analytics and reporting, the incumbent will develop effective forecasting and accrual processes for the order-to-cash process. Provides analysis and guidance in support of government pricing and plays key role in steering government price reporting/contracting.

While reporting to the US FP&A Head, this role will collaborate among global finance team members and US internal client stakeholders to ensure the story their data is telling both aligns with outcomes and desired direction of the business.  This role will problem shoot, drive data driven decisions and act as owner of cumulative dashboarding.  Given the startup nature of our organization, this role will assist in creating and maintaining an overall analytical framework to monitor and assess product performance for both revenues and spending.

The Sr. Manager will be responsible for:

Revenue Accounting:

n

 

n

n
• Serves as subject matter expert in Gross-to-Net accounting.
n
• Manages the accounting for product revenue and all GTN accruals, including rebate programs, returns reserves, estimates and other adjustments to revenue to accurately close financial books. Reviews and analyzes journal entries posted for product revenue and gross-to-net accruals in conjunction with Third Party GTN provider.
n
• Designs, prepares and provides analytical, accounting and reporting support primarily related to revenue, including monthly fluctuation explanations of actuals versus forecast. Works with Commercial and other groups to develop and update assumptions for gross-to-net accounting.
n
• Coordinates with Third-Party Logistics provider (3PL), Wholesalers and Commercial teams to ensure robust controls for sales cut-off to properly recognize revenue and provides insights on ways to improve profitability.

FP&A:

• Partnering with the commercial, supply chain and corporate support functions to gather and deliver timely, actionable, and robust analysis and metrics
n
• Providing key input and assistance in preparation of annual budgets, periodic forecasts and mid-range and long-range plans
n
• Monthly brand product forecasts, updates, revisions
n
• Preparing monthly/quarterly/annual financial brand product reviews
n
• Analyzing volume, demand (Rx, TRx) and product pricing trends
n
• Preparing and maintaining analyses of gross-to-net (“GTN”) sales allowances
n
• Tracking and analyzing selling and marketing spend
n
• Assisting in the monthly and quarterly financial closing and reporting process
n
• Generating ad hoc reports and analytics as needed
n
• Other duties as assigned or as business needs require

Qualifications:

n

 

n

n
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics is required, MBA or other advanced degree in Business or related fields highly preferred.
n
• Minimum 8 years of experience in a finance/accounting role required with some or all experience in an FP&A &/or Revenue Accounting position supporting a commercial business unit
n
• High proficiency in financial tools, including Excel; SAP experience highly preferred.
n
• Experience as a business partner to senior leadership team and a demonstrated contributor to the success and growth of the business.
n
• Demonstrated extensive knowledge and application of GAAP and industry regulations required.
n
• Strong financial and business planning orientation and a natural propensity to details.
n
• Skilled in process modeling, financial analysis, business value analysis and business process design. Ability to use advanced Excel spreadsheet functions and formulas to build and maintain models used for calculating and forecasting gross-to-net deductions. Analyzes qualitative and quantitative data for sound decision-making and recommendations. 
n
• Proven teamwork and collaboration skills, influencing and building effective relationships with business partners (e.g. peers, functional partners, external vendors and alliance partners).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
