Description
The Market Data Analyst collects, analyzes and reports on various market data to connect financial outcomes with operational effectiveness. The Market Data Analyst work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors using data mining techniques and analytical practices.
Responsibilities
The Market Data Analyst works with Actuary, MRA, Corporate Finance, Clinical and Market Point internally and Providers/Hospitals/Ancillary externally to drive optimization inclusive of activities spanning decisions required for day-to-day operations to strategic planning and addressing specific business performance issues across matrixed organization and fostering key relationships with business stakeholders. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Leverages the tools, technologies, applications and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present an organization's raw data in order to create insightful and actionable business information. ​Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
2 years of technical/analytics experience
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaborate with teammates
Comprehensive working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
Expertise in assessing complex data sets and performing root cause analysis
Experience using pivot tables and look-up functions (Excel)
1 or more years of experience in SQL, SAS or other data systems

Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
In-depth experience in Microsoft Excel including formulas, pivots, charts, graphs, etc.
Experience with data mining and predictive modeling techniques
Ability to use data to drive business outcomes and decisions
