Healthcare Quality Reporting & Improvement (HQRI) delivers integrated risk adjustment (RA) and quality (Stars) solutions that leverage data and technology to empower members, providers, and Humana. HQRI Health Quality and Stars (HQS) is committed to caring for our customers and delivering high plan quality as rated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

HQS's Data Interpretation and Performance Management (DIPM) team is developing strategy and prioritization for Humana to maintain its five years of leading national competitors in members rated in 4 Star or higher plans. DIPM operates with a spirit of shared success whereby our ability to help business partners maximize the effectiveness and accuracy of their programs yields better member care, health outcomes, provider partnerships and financing of benefits for Medicate Advantage beneficiaries.

The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer will support a cross-functional prescription drug plan (PDP) focused task force with analysis, performance improvement identification and strategy buildout to make Humana a leader in the Medicare PDP space. By creating solutions that serve the needs of partners across the enterprise you will equip them to be more efficient and effective at their work - driving actions with meaningful data.

Responsibilities

The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer describes the tools, technologies, applications, and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present an organization's raw data in order to create insightful and actionable business information. Begins to influence department's strategy and makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Key responsibilities:


Support prescription drug plan quality improvement by developing code, creating reports, and improving data/analytic capabilities for the broader Stars organization
Analyze data to solve a wide variety of business problems and creation of data visualizations that drive strategic vision
Data collection and manipulation from numerous sources (Oracle, SQL, Excel, etc.) with an understanding of database structure design
Become an expert in Stars specifications, processes, and the underlying data available to identify performance drivers and improvement opportunities
Operate with team-first mindset that is committed to ensuring the overall success of the team/organization
Establish and maintain effective professional relationships with key upstream and downstream partners


Required Qualifications


Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of technical experience in data analysis OR Master's degree and 3 or more years of experience
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations
Experience analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems and create data visualizations that drive strategic direction
Proficiency in understanding Healthcare related data
Proficiency in verbal and written communication to senior and executive leadership
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences


Preferred Qualifications


Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
Advanced in SQL, SAS and other data systems
Experience with tools such as Tableau and Qlik for creating data visualizations
Expertise in data mining, forecasting, simulation, and/or predictive modeling
Experience creating analytics solutions for various healthcare sectors

This is a Hybrid Position, with a mix of office and remote work
