Description
The New Cost Pool Team within IT Finance was been created to further streamline the Close, Forecast and Budgeting Processes across IT's major cost categories that include: Contractor/Associate Labor and Capitalization, Software, Depreciation, Hardware, and Other Costs. The Cost Pool Team will be responsible for managing all processes related to those costs and will ensure that all financial data is properly loaded to each reporting view and is accurate for financial reporting. They will partner with the IT Apps/Tower Teams on a regular basis to gather feedback on all Forecasts, Budgets, and Long Term Plans. They will coordinate all load processes to the corporate tools. They will be responsible for all Position Management within IT and will provide routine reporting for all Billable/Non-billable resources. The Cost Pool Team will continue to focus on process improvement and auditing existing processes
Responsibilities
The Senior Finance Professional collects, compiles, verifies, and analyzes financial information and economic indicators so that senior management has accurate and timely information for making strategic and operational decisions on, for example, acquisitions, investments, capital expenditure, divestitures, mergers, or the sale of assets. Analyzes the financial implications of proposed investments or other transactions so that senior managers can evaluate alternatives against the organization's business objectives. Evaluates industry, economic, financial, and market trends to forecast the organization's short, medium, and long-term financial and competitive position. Analyzes revenues, expenses, costs, prices, investments, cash flow, profits, labor market trends, inflation, interest rates, and exchange rates. May involve financial modeling, reporting and budgeting as well. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
5 or more years experience in finance/accounting (financial modeling, standing up review/audit processes, forecasting and budgeting)
Intermediate level user with a relational database (Access, Oracle or other)
Advanced level user with Microsoft Excel (as defined by pivot tables, sort/summarize large amounts of data, v-look ups)
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Strong analytic skills with attention to details
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Business Administration or a related field
Previous health insurance industry experience
Experience with SAS or other relational databases
