Overall Purpose
Responsible for executing all finance & accounting functions within the department, ensuring completeness, correctness & timeliness of AP, AR, GL reporting & cash expenses management & accounts reconciliation. The role is required to work with regional finance team, internal & external stakeholders to resolve critical/non-routine issues related to AP, AR, financial reporting, expense management, internal controls as well as cash flow management.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance
CPA/CA preferred
Responsibilities
Review cash position, loan rollover/settlements & working capital management for APAC
Inter-company funding quotations & collections of receivables
Review & approve accounts reconciliation, journal entries in the Blackline system
Review all APAC monthly BU/Consolidated FS for significant variances vs budget, balance sheet & PnL flux reporting
Prepare corporate reporting for the region - QFR/DCC, Corp Tax/Schedule & risk dashboard
Review regional subsidiaries/JV financial statements to ensure meeting local GAAP & US GAAP
Prepare & review monthly Mark to market for Singapore/China, review all positions & pricing tally up at APAC level
Provide accounting records, financial information to tax agents for Corporate Tax returns & keep APAC tax records on filing
Liaise with Corp Tax on deferred tax accruals for APAC & annual transfer pricing review
Liaise with external auditors to complete annual statutory audit & annual returns within due date
Ensure compliance to financial regulations, corporate policy and statutory requirement (e.g. IFRS and US GAAP)
To partner with Senior Director, Internal Controls & Middle Office to ensure compliance with internal controls
Ensure that all local tax fillings is done promptly and on time across region
Professional Experiences
Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting or finance and with the following prerequisites: -
Prior experience in administering and monitoring financial system, general accounting and audit and financial reporting
Familiarity with local and regional accounting & tax regulations
Prior experience in commodity trading industry (preferred)
Experience in using JD Edwards enterprise system and Insight reporting system.
Detailed oriented and possesses an analytical mind
Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong working relationships
Strong team spirits and collaborative working style.
Good communication skills – both written and verbal
Ability to stick to time constraints
