We are seeking an experienced, technology-savvy Head of Payment Transactions who will design and build the payment related banking operations of our new banking entity, coordinate and control the activities and operations of the Payment Transactions Group (PTRA).
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development of a payment strategy ensuring innovative capabilities in line with regulatory requirements.
Contribute to building an internally developed payment system as an improvement of the core systems at Interactive Brokers Group. Support the related work of software engineers with ideas and information on local and EU-level payment regulation.
Set and maintain conditions and monitor transactions.
Contribute to the continuous development of IBKR payment function by ongoing assessment and anticipated changes in the external environment.
Be active in building up the payments team (e.g., recruiting) and fostering a collaborative and supportive culture.
Collaborate regularly with various internal (e.g., Treasury Department) and external stakeholders (e.g., Giro, corresponding banks) to identify, develop and implement new solutions and product improvements that are globally consistent.
Advise on a development pipeline of banking partners and payment service providers.
Research and apply an understanding of innovation in financial services and emerging technologies (e.g., machine learning, blockchain, robotics process automation) to reimagine the future of payments.
Exhibit a deep passion for continuous learning and provide knowledge gained throughout the organization beyond the team and line of business.
Experience and Qualifications:
At least seven years of experience in Financial Services with exposure to payment services and preferably electronic money issuance
Experience in leading a group of high-quality professionals
A deep understanding of banking and payment regulations (e.g., PSD2) and experience in working with regulatory (MNB, EBA, ESMA) guidelines is a key advantage
The passion for seeking new technologies and the ability to implement them into new services
Good understanding of IT systems and programs
University degree
Fluency in English and Hungarian (written and spoken) is a must
Ability to work and achieve quality results under pressure with a strong problem-solving attitude
Strong leadership, financial, analytical and strategic skill set
Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
Experience in blockchain technology and smart contracts is an advantage
