Finance Advisor
What’s the role?
The Advisor will increase efficiencies through digitalization efforts, drive cost transparency through engagements, and support strategic decision-making in alignment with site priorities and vision. The primary functions of the Finance Advisor are to contribute to improvement efforts to make the site more competitive and profitable and execute activities that will transform Norco into the premiere Energy and Chemical Park. And will assist with the transformation of a traditional chemical and refinery complex into the energy and chemical park of the future. Finance Advisor will work closely with the Extended Leadership Team responsible for the site operations.
As a Finance Advisor, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Recommend process efficiencies to Norco business partners through development of a deep knowledge of our site operations and understanding how end-to-end value is generated.
Leverage digitalization tools to streamline site activities and enhance financial transparency while ensuring alignment with the key site priorities.
Collaborate with teams throughout Norco to understand new business opportunities and analyze investment strategies for the site.
Use internal and external information to assess competitiveness of performance and to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement through benchmarking exercises.
Help Norco reach our sustainability and decarbonization goals through execution of strategies in energy efficiency, renewable energy certificates (RECs), and carbon offsets.
Requirements
What we need from you –
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
Candidate must have minimum of (5) five years relevant work experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration is required; CPA is preferred
Broad finance knowledge and expertise with strong financial analytic, diagnostic, and economic valuation skills
Able to gain the confidence of various internal and external parties building on strong knowledge and understanding of the business drivers, value, and risk
Flexibility and agility to deploy the appropriate finance skills to address the specific and varying business needs across the pool they work in, leveraging a matrix organization (FO/CoE/Business)
Problem solving mindset with the courage to ensure professional financial rigor is applied to commercial decision-making process and risk management bringing analytics and insights to the table
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to relay financial information to people with different financial backgrounds
Continuous improvement mindset and ability to lead through change

Norco Manufacturing Complex is one of Shell's five Energy and Chemical Parks located near New Orleans, LA. Norco consists of the largest ethylene complex within Shell and a 250,000 bbl/day Refinery. Within Chemicals and Products these two units work to supply profitable, reliable, and sustainable ethylene to Geismar by maximizing integrated value across all Shell businesses to meet society’s changing energy needs. The Finance Advisor is expected to participate in, and lead, Global Chemicals and Products Finance initiatives and participate in regional and global Delivery Circles to help the broader Finance organization achieve its aspirations.
