Description
Business Service team member with accounting related duties.
Responsibilities
Performing technical/professional accounting work for the major fund groups used by the University;
Assist in the preparation of various financial reports, perform daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly reconciliation of subsidiary and state ledgers to the University’s general ledger,
Prepare monthly and yearly accounting journals, review and approve accounts payable payments,
Prepare various tax reports, prepare and input insurance information for the state,
Assist in the budget process, procurements, budgets, fixed assets fee schedules and special projects as requested.
Runs student disbursement, prepare student refunds and reconciliations of Pell and Direct Loans.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and work on projects independently and to consistently exercise initiative.
Public relations, interpersonal, and communication skills, including ability to work with diverse group of individuals; experience working under pressure, handling conflicts, making decisions, and problem solving.
Requirements
Experience in general accounting principles and procedures.
Experience in using Excel spreadsheets and Word.
Experience in various reconciliation processes with attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
Good organization and prioritization skills.
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration with course work in accounting or a combination of education and work experience will be considered.
