The Technology Business Management Director is a key member of our Strategy & Planning Leadership team.
Tyson’s Technology Business Management Office (TBMO) provides key business intelligence, analysis, and instrumentation that help our teams to effectively plan, manage, and optimize technology investments across the enterprise. The Director of this role will collaboratively work daily with peer groups in the Project Management Office, Vendor Management Office, and IT Compliance Office as well as other peer groups inside and outside of Technology. The role also regularly works with key business partners in Finance, Procurement, and Human Resources. Articulating through effective communication the cost, quality, and value of Technology services is a key element and success metric for this role. The leader create and direct strategy with a team whose responsibilities include delivering timely, accurate analysis, and reporting of Technology investment results; ensuring accountability for the continued process improvement of the business operations; leading initiatives to implement relevant changes to current reporting; developing and implementing strategy and action plans that leverage Lean practices removing data gaps that result in efficient and effective outcomes.
As we continue to transform, automate, streamline, and standardize Technology metrics and analysis across the Tyson enterprise, we need skilled leaders who can drive clarity and simplicity of complex data sets, provide actionable reports for executives, and enable comprehensive self-service technology for all stakeholders.
Must have strong relationship management- ability to establish and build healthy working relations and partnerships with internal customers, vendors, and peers.
Must have extensive experience in financial planning and forecasting. Both Tactical, and Strategic Planning skills which include 8 years tactical hands-on with 3-5 years strategic planning in support of multiple business units.
Must have advanced financial experience- familiarity with Budgetary Planning and Cost Reporting, Capital Planning, economics, financial modeling, financial forecasting, statistical modeling
Must have proven leadership experience- knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for gaining the cooperation and support of others including performance management of direct staff.
Should have experience operating in a matrixed environment- ability to build and use effective working relationships across the organization, have strong ability to influence - ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization, multi-tasking and managing competing priorities.
Must have strong interpersonal relationships skills- knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques working with individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner
Should have well-developed decision making and critical thinking experience - knowledge of tools and techniques for effective use of a broad range of factors, assumptions, frameworks, and perspectives when solving problems.
Should have proven technical experience in management accounting and in computer application systems
Must be able to provide business/financial executive presence
Ability to work efficiently and effectively with multiple levels of management and staff across the organization
Strong leadership and organizational skills- capable of motivating and managing organizations or teams to deliver desired results including Performance Management practices.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required, advanced degree with an emphasis in Finance, or technology preferred.
Experience:
10 plus years of IT and business work experience with a broad range of exposure to various technical environments and business segments. Experience with managing team(s) responsible in strategic planning, infrastructure, and operational support functions.
Demonstrated experience providing business/financial advice to executives, controllers, and directors on business management related matters.
Proven leadership experience in organizational modeling, building teams, and performance management
