SUMMARY :
As part of Corporate Accounting this position is responsible for managing all aspects of the Enablement Finance Team.Primary responsibilities include:
Facilitating the accounting and financial reporting processes for all of Tyson’s Enabling Functions including IT, Law, HR, Sustainability, Finance, Business Services and CEO. Ensuring the accuracy of the Enabling Function’s financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Ensuring Enabling Functions executive leaders and their team members are informed of and understand their financial statements so they can better manage the finances of their areas alerting them to issues and trends seen in the financial results. Provide monthly reporting for all Enabling Functions including highlighting trends and insights into performance. Driving projects that result in standardizing simplifying and modernizing current processes including the successful execution of sustainable value-added reporting capabilities across Corporate Accounting and the Enterprise. Evaluating all Cloud Computing Arrangements and other internally developed software projects to ensure proper accounting treatment. Lead and execute the annual AOP (Annual Operating Plan) process for Enabling Functions including the collection, analysis, reporting, and communication of the AOP. Ensuring the successful execution of the AOP process for each of the supported Enablement Functions including providing accurate timely and ongoing insights to the AOP Strategic Plan, etc. Accurately forecasting financials of the supported Enablement Functions and optimizing management s decision-making capabilities. Assist in the preparation and review of capital project requests. Provide reporting and insights around Tyson’s SG&A expenses. Assisting with other quarter-close activities and ad-hoc projects. Participating in the evaluation of new accounting standards and implementing required accounting changes. Building and maintaining effective working relationships with various levels in the organization and being a champion of Tyson’s mission core values and team behaviors the 5 Cs are critical.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor s degree in an academic field directly related and essential to this job Accounting or Finance degree preferred.
Experience : 10 plus years of progressive experience.
Computer Skills : Working knowledge of SAP and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel Word Outlook PowerPoint Preferred. Additionally, an intermediate to advanced knowledge of PowerBI is also preferred.
Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation skills and executive presence; must be comfortable communicating and interacting with executive leadership; ability to quickly distill complex issues and communicate in an easily understandable way.
Special Skills : Certified Public Accountant preferred but not required. Strong analytical skills and people skills; must be comfortable working with Enabling Functions leaders; possess good knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and SOX 404. Supervision and development of direct reports.
Travel : Possibly 1-2 domestic trips per year.
