Description
The Data Analytics & Business Intelligence lead will directly develop Finance solutions that support our evolution in data capabilities and enable the delivery of innovative, competitive, and analytically driven financial insights for Humana. In this role, the individual will be both hands-on with the data and be able to communicate the results in a way that builds confidence and supports decisions that align with Humana's long term financial planning and analysis.
Responsibilities
Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, and automated dashboards to support with the financial analysis and forecasting of Humana's businesses and key performance indicators.
Collaborate with key stakeholders across the Finance, Strategy, LOB's and Functional teams to identify reporting, data analytics and visualization needs; gather requirements, design and ultimately build the appropriate data tools.
Utilize data visualization, tools and reporting to bring data to life and tell a compelling story built around actionable insights.
Identify and execute best practices around collecting and analyzing financial data.
Create, maintain, and ensure quality of key data sets, reports, and metrics by promoting data consistency, accuracy, and completeness.
Advance the use of analytical techniques and statistical thinking across the department.

Collects, compiles, verifies, and analyzes financial information and economic indicators so that senior management has accurate and timely information for making strategic and operational decisions on, for example, acquisitions, divestitures, investments, capital expenditure, mergers, or capital deployment opportunities.
Analyzes financial implications of specific decisions based on our long-term modeling capabilities so that senior management can evaluate alternatives with the most relevant and up-to-date financial information available.
Evaluates industry, economic, financial, and market trends to forecast the organization's short, medium, and long-term financial and competitive position.
Analyzes revenues, expenses, costs, prices, investments, cash flow, profits, labor market trends, inflation, interest rates, and incorporates these different variables into a financial model that supports the business strategy.
Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of data analysis and financial analysis experience
Experience with tools such as Tableau, Power BI, QlikView or other visualization tools to support financial analysis in a dynamic and creative way.
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Strong business acumen - able to identify and articulate what the key business reporting needs are and create a plan that builds confidence with stakeholders
Ability to tell stories with data, educates effectively, and instills confidence in recommendations, motivating others to act on them
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet objectives and deadlines.
Outstanding communications skills with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
Strong organizational skills, time management, and accountability.
Attention to detail and bias to action: pursue data quality, troubleshoot data validation, and see issues to resolution
Experience advising senior leadership on financial strategies
Knowledge of complex accounting and financial transactions for internal and external reporting
Prior experience developing methods and criteria for measuring and summarizing data for complex analyses
Ability to lead and manage special projects that may necessitate cross-functional partnerships
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
