The Senior Forecast & Budget Analyst is responsible for managing the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process, collecting and maintaining budget input requirements across departments and providing analysis and feedback of potential future financial results based on historical and evolving trends. This role will perform a variety of complex and confidential duties requiring a thorough knowledge of the Plan's policies and procedures.
Essential Duties
This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
Lead the Plan's financial planning and budgeting process
Maintain models to feed into forecasting process to help predict future financial results, based on defined inputs, to include P&L, balance sheet and cash flow results.
Track and review actuals versus budget and forecast estimates; prepare appropriate variance explanations and highlight key performance drivers
Support Executive Leadership by providing consolidated budget scenarios and forecast with a focus on reporting cash and working capital.
Identify and develop solutions to issues affecting the accuracy of financial records and efficiency of accounting processes.
Develop, analyze and distribute reports and dashboards to share monthly results to department leaders
Be an expert on the data available and be an advocate for its integrity and availability
Provide ad hoc analyses and reports for the executive team, as requested
Support month end close activities as needed

Work Experience * 5 Experience in budgeting and/or forecasting * 5 Experience general ledger systems
Education * Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance or related field OR Associate degree and seven years in accounting, business, finance or related field
Specialized Knowledge and Skills * Demonstrated verbal, written, and oral communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with associates at any level in the health system. * Very strong analytic skills, ability to analyze and interpret financial data, inquisitive and a self-starter. * Ability to develop presentations summarizing budgets and forecast efforts * High degree of initiative, proactive attitude and commitment to teamwork. * Demonstrated ability to effectively adapt to constant industry change and rapidly changing priorities * Self-motivation, initiative, and the ability to perform under pressure with minimal supervision * Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job. * Word, Power Point and other presentation programs. Preferred. * Experience downloading data from external sources. Preferred. * Insurance industry experience. Preferred. * CPA or MBA preferred
