Responsibilities

The Business Intelligence Engineer is a key business partner within Humana's Pharmacy Analytics and Consulting team. In this position, you will utilize tools like SAS and SQL-based platforms to query large datasets. And you'll leverage technologies like Power BI and Tableau to explore, analyze, and visualize your data -- utilizing your skills to create insightful, actionable business information for our pharmacy teams.

This position partners closely with our MarketPoint segment, supporting data and analytic needs to increase awareness of pharmacy benefits for our members. In addition, you'll collaborate with senior associates on the team, handling ad hoc requests and helping business partners form data-driven decisions.

Required Qualifications


Passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Working knowledge of advanced SQL and/or SAS code to work with big and complex data sets
Experience visualizing data to support business decisions (or equivalent academic experience)
Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics or related field, or 5 years of technical experience in a data- or analytics-oriented role
Self-starter who requires minimal direction and welcomes guidance/coaching
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Proficiency in verbal and written communication


Preferred Qualifications


Experience analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems
3 years of experience in SQL, SAS or other data systems (Masters degree in relevant field, such as Business Analytics, will be considered in place of professional experience)
Experience in creating Power BI or Tableau dashboards
A/B testing and study design experience
Familiarity with healthcare-related data
