Financial Sponsors Director - Infrastructure Coverage (London, UK) We’re hiring! Aon are currently recruiting a Director in Aon's M&A and Transaction Solutions (AMATS) practice in the UK, London. Aon’s M&A and Transaction Solutions (AMATS) team provides both deal advisory services and a wide range of transaction solutions to clients undertaking M&A activity across EMEA. The Pan-European team has grown rapidly over the last four years to over 60 colleagues in London and a total of 140 across EMEA. The team has a diverse range of backgrounds including investment bankers, Big 4, lawyers, actuaries, cyber security experts as well as human capital and risk & insurance specialists.   The team advised on over 110 Infrastructure transactions across EMEA in 2020, with growth continuing in 2021. Our client base includes infrastructure funds, institutional investors plus utilities, plus strategic inbound investors into EMEA (Japanese trading houses, sovereign wealth funds etc). The transaction include asset across each of the core energy & utilities, transport, communications and social infrastructure sub-sectors.   The team’s focus is across two core strategies. Firstly, to be the leading provider of specialist transaction related advisory services, stretching far beyond traditional risk and insurance due diligence. Our broader advisory capabilities include Cyber Security, Human Capital (pension, heath and benefits, compensation and talent) plus Intellectual Property advisory.  Secondly, our Transactions Solutions capabilities deliver structured risk transfer instruments cover a range of unknown and contingent risks plus credit/bonding solutions to enable clients to optimise their capital structure. A key focus is on developing insurance and alternative capital solutions to reduce exposure to downside risks and cashflow volatility, which can improve risk weighted returns, improve debt terms and enhance IRRs.   Your key responsibilities will involve;  Reporting to the EMEA Head Financial Sponsors and the role will initially focus on a number of key areas. Your key responsibilities will involve:Work with the regional AMATS CEOs and Regional Infrastructure Champions to develop the Infrastructure client coverage model across EMEAOwn and develop trusted advisory relationships across a range of key target clientsDeliver revenue growth from target clients through managing the delivery of high-quality client service and deliverables  Act as an Infrastructure subject matter expert to support other client teams develop relationships, win and deliver engagements Broaden and deepening the Infrastructure sector knowledge across the AMATS teamWorking with Aon colleagues, drive the development of new innovative solutions Building a strong internal network to unlock client opportunities and facilitate the delivery of exceptional client service You bring knowledge and expertise Significant M&A advisory experience gained from a Big 4, investment bank, corporate finance boutique, fund manager or insurance Infrastructure experience, ideally across two or more of the energy and utility, communication, transport and social infrastructure sub-sectorsTrack record of working across different European marketsIdeally financial modelling capabilities, including experience of modelling capital structures involving project finance and/or other debt solutions A confident individual who thrives on building long term trusted client relationshipsInternal and external networking experience and abilitiesActive listener, able to identify client issues and articulate solutionsExcellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills across organisational levelsGoal-oriented with strong business acumen and client centric approachAbility to work independently, manage competing priories through effective prioritisation and delegation Excellent analytical and numerical skills Our Colleague Experience Every day, our colleagues make a difference, work with the best, own their potential, and value one another.
