Segal Marco Advisors is seeking a Senior Analyst, a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 881, to support our clients’ environmental, social, governance (ESG) efforts. The position reports to the Director of Corporate Governance. The corporate governance group leads the firm’s proxy voting practice and supports clients in their corporate engagement efforts on ESG data, reporting and progress. Segal Marco acts as a fiduciary when casting proxy votes on behalf of clients at the annual and special meetings of approximately 10,000 publicly-traded domestic and overseas companies.
Essential Job Functions:
Analyze and execute U.S. and global proxy votes per Segal Marco’s Proxy Policy and customized client policies.
Execute and provide rationales for proxy voting decisions by independently researching issues from company proxy statements and proxy advisory reports, analyzing issues and arriving at the appropriate vote determination.
Develop policy guidance for new and emerging issues and adjust existing policy guidance in light of recent developments.
Present shareholder proposals on behalf of clients at annual meetings of shareholders.
Manage client admission requests for annual meetings of shareholders.
Develop consistent logic and criteria on voting items to maximize technical assistance on voting applications and streamline the execution of proxy votes.
Develop graphics and other enhanced reporting collateral for proxy voting and related ESG efforts.
Track voting execution on key watchlists.
Requirements
The candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, economics, public policy or a minimum of 2 years related experience working in a professional environment with a focus on ESG, sustainability or investment stewardship. The ability to manage time and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment with a proven track record of working independently with high quality output.
