The Associate Director, US Commercialization Financial Planning & Analysis will report to the Director, US Commercialization FP&A, and have the following Job Responsibilities and Expectations, among others.
Job Responsibilities:
Consolidate and analyze all financial information including actuals, budgets, projections, monthly/quarterly closes and manage ad-hoc requests for the US Commercialization organization, comprising of $14B of Net Sales and 1.7B OPEX.
Analyze weekly sales reports and commentary for distribution to senior management
Assist HQ business partners in managing and delivering on OPEX budgets for US Commercialization Executive, Promotional Compliance, and other business unit-wide functions.
Coordinate, track, analyze, and identify areas of synergy within the US Commercialization organization
Create presentation material and ad-hoc analysis in support of VP Finance and GM, US Commercialization for various planning cycles and closes
Communicate the overall financial reporting calendar to Brand Finance and Market Access teams and ensure due dates are adhered to and deliverables are quality checked
Assist in Price Volume analysis quarterly and partner with Corporate Financial Reporting and Market Access finance organizations
Collaborate extensively across the matrix organization, with: Brand Finance, Finance Shared Services, Corporate FP&A, Total Commercial, Corporate Financial Reporting, Investor Relations, Market Research and External / Internal Audit
Lead and develop headcount reporting and analysis for 2,600 person US Commercialization organization while working with HR business partners to identify needs and uses
Ensure compliance with all BMS guidelines for business performance and reporting
Maintain strong internal controls including compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX)
Expected Areas of Competence
Take a hands on approach with creating reports and analysis, and adding valuable new insights to existing data sets
Develops various financial reporting schedules timely and accurately
Provides effective analyses to clearly highlight key trend/variances and rationale
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Effectively communicates across the matrix, specifically with upper management
Ability to develop strong working relationships with colleagues
High level of oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to be both clear and concise
Ability to effectively interact with internal stakeholders at different management levels in the organization
Provide innovative ideas and insights on creating operational efficiencies in financial planning and analysis
Qualifications
7 to 10 years of financial and/or accounting experience exhibiting increasing levels of responsibility
Bachelor Degree in accounting or finance required, MBA/CPA preferred
Mastery of financial analysis, modeling, processes (budget, P&L, strategic planning) sufficient to train and develop others
High level of proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
Experience with SAP/BI/BEX/Hyperion is a requirement and experience with Oracle and Workday is very desirable
Basic understanding of pharmaceutical commercialization dynamics
Understanding of operational business strategies and issues
