Tax Staff Accountant

Profile

General Description:
The Tax Staff Accountant is responsible for payroll and state tax compliance by preparing and filing all required tax payments and returns while maintaining the Company core values of Integrity, Candor, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.
What you will be doing:
Analyze data from multiple platforms with advanced Excel skills
for proper filings
Prepare payroll tax withholding returns and process online payments
State Unemployment Tax Act (SUTA) quarterly filings online
State income tax filings preparation using OneSource software
Local income tax data collection and return preparation/ filing
Annual payroll tax returns and reconciliations
Use, excise, & sales tax filings
Property tax filings
Maintain existing state & local business licenses and nursing pool licenses
Fixed assets management (Bassets software) and tax depreciation calculations
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education: associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
2 years of applicable work experience
Basic understanding of financial statements, accounting, and tax functions
Must have a working knowledge of computers and software systems including Microsoft Office products and the Internet (advanced Excel skills required)
Must be detail-oriented and highly organized
Knowledge of proper grammar, spelling and rules of composition
Must be able to research tax laws and requirements and apply them to a set of facts
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as position works remotely
Ability to organize and complete work in a timely manner
Ability to multi-task
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
Must be able to work for prolonged periods of sitting, typing and use of the phone and computer
Must successfully complete onboarding training/tutorials and attend future webcasts/trainings as required
