Summary

CHS is seeking an experienced finance analyst and business partner to support our corporate functions, including Finance, Human Resources, Legal, Community Giving, Strategic Sourcing, Cooperative Resources, Enterprise Strategy, Global Research, and non-finance workstreams of our CHS1 operating model transformation. This position will support the annual functions budget process, financial reporting and analysis, capital expenditures and investment decisions, and strategic initiatives. This position will report to the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis.

The person in this role is able to work a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

Serve as a business partner for corporate functions


Provide financial guidance and support to functional groups
Provide financial support to project investments, evaluate and optimize investments to ensure alignment with budget and non-finance CHS1 workstreams
Evaluate key metrics including return on investment for proposed initiatives
Track and report progress against KPIs
Support analysis of function capital and operating expenditures
Identify opportunities to simplify and streamline our corporate allocation process
Serve as a trusted business partner demonstrating a deep understanding of strategic business priorities and non-finance CHS1 workstreams


Support the budget processes and financial reporting for the functions and non-finance CHS1 workstreams


Partner with leaders to incorporate functions into the CHS forecast cadence and consolidation process, ensuring tasks are completed correctly and timely
Work with enterprise FP&A and provide direction to function leaders to ensure all budget requirements and timelines are met
Monitor internal controls and overall infrastructure are in place to measure, understand corporate results relative to action plans and milestones
Track, report and explain variances to budget, creating consistency with enterprise FP&A reporting
Report KPIs in a standard and consistent format in connection with enterprise FP&A
Support budgeting and forecasting for functions and non-finance CHS1 workstreams, ensuring costs are correctly captured and budgeted holistically and comprehensively


Provide recurring reporting on actual results versus budget


Provide functional leaders with financial reporting that improves transparency and clearly identifies performance against budget
Actively partner with functional leaders to review results, provide insights, and develop action plans
Provide actionable insights, financial counsel, and metrics to drive cost optimization and guide sound decision-making
Identify areas of opportunity to drive efficiency and automation of reports and distribution of information, partner with IT to execute improvements


Minimum Qualifications (required)


Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting
Minimum of 2 years related financial management experience including strategic and business planning, accounting, and financial analysis
Experience with SAP/BPC or Similar Planning Module
Experience supporting finance across business and functional boundaries


Additional Qualifications


MBA/CPA/CMA
Previous experience providing financial support to corporate functional areas
