Sr. Financial Systems Manager (Hyperion)
Responsibilities:
Lead the coordination of resources, project scope, business requirement documentation, project documentation, project status reporting, project risk management, timelines, and project communication.
Assume responsibility as the systems administrator for the company’s financial planning application; lead the development and implementation for expansion of existing application landscape
Drive system enhancements and process improvements that help scale the Finance team and improve reliability and accuracy.
Evaluate with IT opportunities to expand the tool’s scope and further meet business operational needs
Maintain a level of constant and effective communication with managers, leaders, and subject matter experts in a variety of business, functional and technology areas.
Gain an understanding of underlying business processes in support of establishing efficient and effective use of technology and data.
Partner with the IT group to ensure that the company’s data architecture meets the needs of the financial information systems
Document business requirements to facilitate project approval and execution.
Manage the RFP process for all FP&A tools, and represent FP&A’s Technology needs going into the future.
Provide training and documentation for financial planning application to get new users up to speed.
Project Management of multiple Financial Systems projects to ensure tasks are scoped, assigned and tracked to completion.
Provide Audit assistance to Lead Oracle DBA for SOX compliance requests from external auditors.
Qualifications:
Proficient at multi-dimensional Essbase cube design (ASO or BSO)
Development of reports using Hyperion Financial Reporting and Smart View
Knowledge of Oracle EPM data management tools (ODI, EAS)
Knowledge and experience configuring dimensions and with optimal dimension design.
Knowledge and experience identifying alternate hierarchies.
Knowledge and experience configuring Essbase application components, business rules and calc scripts and calc script customizations.
Knowledge and experience with Smartview, Data forms, and Web Forms.
Able to understand and develop calculation rules, MAXL scripting, allocation scripts, load rules etc.
Essbase design best practices, tuning, & performance optimizations
Some familiarity with data integration to Hyperion Planning and Essbase
Design and development of Hyperion security models
Adept at creating and understanding technical documentation (Word, PowerPoint)
Very strong preference for experience administering v11.1
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Finance/Accounting or a similar field. Preference for Master’s degree in a related field
10 years of relevant experience
Significant experience and proficiency in implementing/upgrading Hyperion EPM suite
Working knowledge of the data structure, financial applications and processes associated with large-scale ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft) is preferred
Understanding of database structures and functions very helpful.
In-depth expert knowledge of Excel, Hyperion Planning, Essbase, Hyperion Financial Reports and ODI Very detail oriented, with strong organization skills and ability to maintain and keep track of multiple information sources
Self-motivated, ability to find new ways to improve processes.
A very quick learner who can dive right in and then come up to speed.
Demonstrated success in project management and exposure to application development methodologies (Agile/SCRUM);
Effective communicator and ability to develop program materials, requirements documentation, training courses, and status reports
Exceptional problem diagnosis and analytical skills
Highly detail oriented while able to maintain a big picture view
Demonstrated leadership in a multi-functional team and fast-paced environment
Ability to build strong relationships at all levels across the organization
Ability to work independently and switch rapidly between different projects
