Role Summary:
The Category Specialist
/ Procurement for Marketing acts as an independent contributor and is responsible for the category management (sourcing, negotiation, contracting and RFx) for an established portfolio of highly similar and less-complex products and services. (Less-complex products and services generally have a lower cost, are more transactional in nature, and risk of supplier or product failure is low to the organization.) This position will also act in a support role for more complex sourcing projects. This position will create value while
reducing total cost of ownership through proactive category management in alignment with category strategies and by leveraging world-class negotiation and sourcing strategies. This position interacts with leaders throughout all levels of the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. organization. The position also closely works with 3rd party contracted partners.
Two positions are being hired for this role.
The first will lead sourcing for the Creative, Social/Influencers, Translation Services, Licenses (fonts, imagery, music, etc.) and Consulting categories.
The second role will lead sourcing for Advertising Technology/Digital Marketing, eCommerce, Research, Consumer Insights, Analytics, Public Affairs, Public Relations, Communications, Government Affairs, Social Responsibility and Social Impact.
Key Responsibilities
Source and/or negotiate a highly similar portfolio of non-complex Marketing products and services with tools, processes, and strategies to drive and achieve business results in the following capabilities:
GNFR (Goods Not For Resale, or Direct Spend) Supplier Sourcing and Portfolio Management (ability to create a portfolio of available and preferred suppliers, proactively manage contract expirations and renewals, perform total cost analytics, and maintain service levels from suppliers)
GNFR Supplier Relationship Management (ability to identify and establish relationships with credible suppliers and create a mutually beneficial relationship)
GNFR Contract Management (ability to create and manage contracts, managing and monitoring compliance, and reducing exposure to risk factors).
Perform procurement functions as needed such as:
Closely partner with Procurement Operations team to ensure a total sourcing and procurement solution is delivered to **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.. Support end-to-end source-to-pay process through launch of new tool iProcurement. Utilize operations support to deliver optimal outcomes.
Support communications with cross-functional areas in establishing and sustaining this function within Commercial Office, ensuring compliance in the use of sourcing and procurement services.
Support Category Manager and/or Sr. Category Manager
with more complex category management activities including but not limited to spend reporting, contract redlines, negotiations, supplier research and RFx.
Act as subject matter expertise and industry knowledge within the established portfolio set of products and services.

Minimum Requirements:
0 – 3 years of Procurement related experience to include sourcing, negotiation and contracting or equivalent
2 or more years of Procurement experience to include sourcing, negotiation and contracting is required.
Strong communication Skills
Ability to develop collaborative relationships
Strong business acumen
Strong analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to influence without authority
PC proficiency (including MS Office programs)
Project and process management skills
High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain or closely related field
2 or more years of Procurement experience to include sourcing, negotiation and contracting
