UNC Health Virtual Care Team is seeking a highly motivated business analyst candidate who will support the planning, start-up, implementation and on-going business operations of UNC Health’s Virtual Care services and programs. The business analyst will be a key team member working collaboratively across teams to lead in financial planning and establishment of financial goals, infrastructure, contracting process, and other infrastructure needs as it pertains to Virtual Care. The business analyst will assist the Director of Virtual services in achieving these aims. The successful candidate will assist in the development and implementation of fiscal strategies to achieve goals and objectives. The successful candidate will collaborate within the HCS and externally with partners to ensure goals and outcomes are met appropriately. The ideal candidate is passionate about transformative virtual care solutions and driving exceptional patient-centered care.Reports to: Director, Virtual Services Description of Job Responsibilities:Prepare, analyze, and review department actual financials in comparison to budget. Analyzes for trends across business lines. Identify opportunities and implement changes to increase revenue and decrease expenses.Designs, develops or modifies and implements accounting/business systems. Performs unit, systems, and parallel tests of new or redesigned systems and processesUtilizes data and appropriate tools to identify new opportunities to improve department and service line performance.Assists in development and implementation of fiscal strategies to achieve departmental goals and objectives. Monitors and cost center accounting flows and ensure accurate recognition of expenses in appropriate cost centers. Makes suggestions for cost center and account set-up to ensure GAAP appropriateness and clarity for cost center owners. Completes analyses and projections relating to regulatory or business needs Monitors compliance with policies and procedures and makes recommendations for changes as appropriate. Develops and documents procedures.Works collaboratively with other departments to ensure appropriate contracting and charging processes are established and maintainedDevelops and maintains knowledge of key financial systems including but not limited to the EHR, cost accounting and decision support software, general ledger, and others to provide insight.Other duties as needed based on an ever evolving environment. ','!*!Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Public Administration or related field (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience). If a Bachelor's degree: Two (2) years of experience in professional accounting, management of an operational unit, business analysis or financial analysis. If an Associate's degree: Six (6) years of experience in professional accounting, management of an operational unit, business analysis or financial analysis.
