Regulatory Development Manager - Financial Services

Profile

Looking for senior-level project lead with a minimum of 7 to 10 years experience managing mid-size to large projects, with at least 5 years design/tech lead experience. Candidate must be well versed in a variety of technical topics, including RDBMS concepts, ETL concepts, graphical user interface design, and end user reporting. Candidate must have practical development experience in Sybase, Microsoft C#/.NET, Java or ETL technologies, with working experience in several strongly desired. Candidate should have familiarity with the Unix/Linux operating system and Microsoft environment. Business knowledge of Federal Reserve regulatory requirements or experience developing or supporting regulatory and/or capital reporting systems, either vendor (Axiom, FinArch) or in-house is also required.

Individual must be an independent thinker, self-starter, possess strong analytics skills, and be able to work within a large team. It is preferred that a majority of the candidate's working experience has been in the financial or regulatory IT community. Above all else, individual must be an excellent communicator.

The role is in the Regulatory IT group to manage the mandated regulatory capital initiatives for Basel 1, 2, 2.5 and 3 in support of the migration to financial holding company status and regulation under the Federal Reserve. Candidate will work closely with his/her counterparts in the controller group for requirements, other IT team members responsible for external systems feeding data, as well as with IT management for project status. Candidate will manage a team of both onshore and offshore technically-oriented individuals with the goal of integrating new requirements into existing systems, while participating in re-engineering into a planned global platform. Candidate must be flexible and prepared to juggle multiple tasks, both ad-hoc and planned, in a dynamic and changeable regulatory environment. Candidate should be prepared to set direction for the team, oversee design decisions and take full responsibility for the entire set of capital initiatives.

Skills Required

- Knowledge in the Financial data arena (risk/trade data)
- Excellent communication/negotiation skills

Skills Desired
- Working experience designing / implementing solutions for regulatory requirements, specifically for the Basel capital regimes
- Object Oriented Programming methodologies
- In-depth knowledge of UNIX/Linux environment
- Perl, ksh scripting languages
- Openness to and enthusiasm for learning new technologies
