Founded and led by billion-dollar investment and operations company Founder and Executive Chairman, Peter Rex, ResProp (part of the Rex family of companies) is looking for a Director of Investments to identify, execute and oversee all direct asset strategy, analysis, evaluation of market opportunities in addition to leading other capital raising/allocation initiatives. With ~$1B in assets under management and ~40 properties across 3 states, ResProp is revolutionizing the real estate industry with the combination of elite talent, operational excellence and cutting edge technology solutions.
Based out of Austin, TX, the Director of Investments will monitor fund performance and the performance of all underlying assets ensuring solutions are found and implemented quickly, stress test the portfolio, recommend refi/recaps to the investment committee, execute on all financing decisions, and own all distribution analysis and recommendations.
The Director will own and manage all relationships with key financial stakeholders of our established, fully deployed fund, and look to help shape the strategy and execution of new investment opportunities. To better the current strategy, portfolio and investment perspective, you’ll take immediate leadership reigns of managing all lender relationships and communication, oversee all corporate and property level budgets, and also selective, asset level, operational involvement/implementation.
With raw talent, smarts, street smarts, and the hustle of a true builder, you will find a way or make one.
Year 1:
Immediately take over and improve asset performance and management.
Deploy across the Rex family of companies to serve, support, and catalyze directives of the Chairman and Executive team
Own all finance related matters within ResProp, including lender relationships and communication, corporate entity budgets, and property level budgets.
Deploy to build out and lead teams within the broader Rex ecosystem.
This is not a ‘minding the shop’ player; you will be responsible for optimizing the shop and be called upon to increase the team’s capabilities.
The Ideal candidate has:
At least 5 years and no more than 7 year of experience in the multifamily RE or private equity space
Experience owning lender relationships and executing financing and derivatives with lenders
Experience performing asset and fund level analysis to validate refi’s, recaps, and any other liquidity issues, including stress testing for recessionary activity and creating 24 month cash flows.
A ridiculous level of integrity
Experience performing distribution analysis and making distribution recommendations, while overseeing the fund accounting team and finance analyst that executes on them
Experience determining fair market value of assets using Discounted Cash Flow models supported by broker BOVs.
The intelligence to figure out very complicated waterfalls/fund structures
3-5 years experience managing a team
Strong history of budgeting, tracking, and monitoring the most appropriate metrics to gauge the funds performance against a target
