Sales Trader - Securities Finance

Profile

The Sales Trader provides financing and securities lending coverage to IBKR’s institutional client base, along with leading projects to enhance the firm’s prime brokerage offering. This role’s mandate includes client relationship development, understanding hedge fund strategies and how to optimize balance sheet usage. Additionally, this dynamic role will work on IBKR’s US and Hong Kong listed IPO processing.
This role sits on the Securities Financing Services desk and works closely with the Securities Lending desk.
Responsibilities
Provide locates and securities lending market color to clients including hedge funds, financial advisors, introducing brokers and proprietary trading firms
Serve as subject matter expert and respond to inquiries from other departments including Client Service, Platform Sales, Block Trading, Risk, Operations, Product Management and Legal
Market and expand the Stock Yield Enhancement Program (fully-paid lending)
Build trading models in Excel to evaluate risk, balance sheet and revenue impact
Price and negotiate over-the-counter trades and financing
Report generation and P&L analysis
Oversee stock loan and client financing related website content
Manage funding of Hong Kong IPOs and conduct US IPO syndicate activities
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
High degree of comfort and fluency with technology
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Interact with clients and counterparties using good judgment and with strong integrity
Intermediate to expert-level Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot tables). Macros are a big plus.
Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines
Experience in Prime Brokerage/Treasury/Operations and is preferred
