Position Summary

Under Armour Europe is seeking for qualified, driven Senior Accountant to join its Finance team based in Amsterdam. This is an ideal opportunity for a self-motivated, passionate, flexible and focused individual to join a high-quality Finance team.

The main responsibilities of the role will be to contribute to accurate and timely processing of various accounting functions for Under Armour Europe BV and its various subsidiaries, as well as developing and maintaining robust accounting controls and processes.

This is a hands-on role and duties will include the preparation of compliance filing responsibilities, booking of journal entries, as well as the reconciliation and review of key account balances. The Senior Accountant will report to the Senior Manager Accounting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform accounting functions as assigned, including, but not limited to, bookkeeping, reviewing of financial information, preparing and posting journal entries, and preparing account reconciliations and variance analysis.

• Maintain integrity of financial statements and compliance with US GAAP and statutory reporting requirements through performance of health checks, enabling process improvements and documentation of processes to meet internal control and reporting requirements

• Own the statutory financial statements preparation for a few of UA Europe subsidiaries

• Liaise with 3rd party providers in regions on the preparation and audit of the statutory financial statements of UA Europe subsidiaries

• Detailed review of financial statements, schedules and workings prepared by junior staff or 3rd party providers

• Support business processes and accounting policies and prepare corresponding documentation

• Willingness to challenge status quo processes and desire to implement process improvements by providing lean ideas, enforcing an environment with uncompromising controls and improve quality

• Support the Under Armour Corporate team on ad hoc issues and improvement projects where required.

• Other ad hoc duties deemed necessary by the Senior Manager Accounting.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

• Attention to detail

• Advanced Excel skills

• Strong analytical and technical skills

• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills

• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills

• Team player with demonstrated ability to lead and influence others outside of direct team peers

• Familiarity with corporate financial accounting systems (SAP experience preferred)

• Good experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

• Fluency in English is a must, while other European language is also an advantage

Education And / Or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics or Accounting or equivalent

• 4 years' work experience in accounting and/or finance, in a high-growth dynamic operating environment, preferably including experience in a global public company

• Knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanex-Oxley
