Our Risk, Audit and Compliance (RAC) Team are seeking their next Head of Risk In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design and execution of the Guild Group Risk Management Framework to effectively identify, evaluate and mitigate the risks which may arise in the entities that make up Guild Insurance Group (GIG). This is a key 2
nd
line role supporting the CRO and Business Unit Heads and is instrumental in ensuring the successful achievement of the Group’s strategic objectives.
Some of the core accountabilities of the role are:
Planning, designing and implementing an overall risk management process for the organisation, including the establishment of the Group’s and Business Unit’s risk appetite in line with ISO 31000 and relevant APRA prudential standards and guidance notes.
Working with Business Units’ executives and the Board Risk Management & Compliance Committee (RMCC), develop and maintain Risk Appetite Statements and supporting targets/thresholds/measures.
Create and monitor appropriate Key Risk Indicators to proactively identify exposures or control weaknesses.
Closely partner with the executives and leadership team of GIG entities, providing SME risk and control advice and guidance, as well as objective review and challenge.
Development of risk management policies and procedures and the development of system/methodologies for the identification, measurement, monitoring, control and reporting of risks;
Assist to develop risk mitigation strategies for the organisation’s critical risks and remediation of ineffective key controls and present strategic risk considerations and operational risk implications and communicate these to various levels of management Group-wide.
Implement appropriate reporting for the Division, CEO, Senior Management and the Board.
Maintenance of the Enterprise Risk Management System (Protecht software), including the business unit risk registers and associated registers stored within the system.
About you
Extensive risk management experience in the Financial Services industry, preferably in General Insurance. This could be a great step-up gig for someone seasoned with leadership aspirations
Detailed knowledge of contemporary tools and techniques of risk management
Working experience in maintaining/upkeeping of an Enterprise Risk Management System (experience in Protecht software desirable but not essential)
Experience in dealing with Senior Management and/or Board members will be highly regarded.
