Foley & Lardner is seeking an associate with 2-3 years of experience to join the Transactions Practice Group in our Milwaukee office, supporting the fund formation/ investment management practice. Foley’s Transactions Practice Group is integrated nationally and principally handles M&A matters for publicly and privately held middle market/upper middle market companies, private equity funds, family offices and others. This position will involve working on US transactions with Foley lawyers in Milwaukee, as well as various other Foley offices. Qualified candidates should have experience counseling mutual funds and exchange traded funds on regulatory matters, counseling boards of trustees of mutual funds and exchange traded funds on corporate governance, and counseling mutual funds and exchange traded funds on mergers and acquisition. Candidate also should have a working knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act, and a desire to gain experience with private funds, proxy contests, and insider trading matters. Strong writing, communication, and document drafting skills are required. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with direct interaction with both senior partners and clients and have a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and an exceptional work ethic, coupled with a desire to be part of a fast-paced, growing and collaborative environment. To be considered, a candidate must hold a JD from an ABA-approved law school and must be in good standing and an active member of the Bar of the state(s) where the candidate is admitted to practice. Timely admission to the Wisconsin Bar will be condition of employment. Interested applicants should submit resume and law school transcript.
