One of the highest performing banks in Texas, founded in the early 1900s is conducting the search for their Controller. This Dallas based national bank is growing rapidly and takes an innovative and entrepreneurial approach to the businesses they serve. Responsibilities
- Reporting to the EVP CFO, the Controller will use their understanding of US GAAP and regulator
reporting to guide and manage the Accounting Department.
- Oversee general ledger accounting, accounting policy and financial reporting
- Coach, train, and provide regular feedback to the accounting and finance team
- Actively participate in the implementation of the new general ledger software and assist in the
implementation of the new core software
- Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual reports, other periodic or ad hoc reports,
- Assist in developing annual budget
- Manage and oversee the internal and external audit processes
- Design and operate internal controls in accounting and advise other business processes
- Analyze and interpret financial results, and submit reports on a timely basis
- Supervise the regulatory filings process. with regulatory agencies (e.g. Call Report, FR Y-9SP)
- Research emerging topics and recommend accounting actions. Incorporate new and revised standards
- Oversees special projects that will give you an opportunity to grow in all areas accounting and finance
Position Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years related work experience at a bank or credit union
…Or experience at a public accounting firm with a l focus on banking
- Banking or public accounting experience required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing priorities
- Advanced knowledge of Excel. Deep experience in Pivot Tables and advanced Excel formulas is required
- Must have the ability to interact with C-level and all levels of bank personnel and within different
departments
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- Active CPA certification is a plus
- Experienced in managing others
- Experience in Jack Henry Silverlake, FIS IBS, FIS BIC, and PeopleSoft is a plus
