Position Summary:
The Accounting & Finance Coordinator supports essential accounting functions related to accounts payable and accounts receivable, month-end tasks, and contractor financial management. This position will be primarily focused on managing the basic accounting functions and compliance for the federally funded Community Innovation and Resilience for Care and Learning Equity (CIRCLE) initiative. This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting directly to the Director of Operations.
Areas of Responsibility
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Accounting Support
Support accounts receivable and accounts payable functions with the external accounting consultant
Submit and code invoices to online bill payment system Bill.com.
Deposit and track all incoming payments.
Provide support to the month-end closing process and maintain project financial expense reports.
Prepare monthly credit card and expense reports for approval.
Maintain financial records and filling systems.
Ensure financial records and filing systems are audit-ready.
Assist with the annual financial audit as needed
Federal Grant Compliance
Ensure grant funds are used in accordance with grant requirements.
Review and prepare invoices for the state in accordance with grant provisions and requirements.
Establish, implement, and maintain policies and procedures in accordance with federal grant requirements.
Establish and maintain electronic and hard-copy files for tracking and reporting purposes.
Ensure contractor and subcontractor procedures are compliant with federals state requirements.
Maintain and retain pertinent records.
Maintain charitable online registrations and periodic reporting through Colorado Secretary of State.
Vendor/Contractor Management
Create and maintain vendor and contractor files, gather W-9s, and update vendor and contractor information within Bill.com and QuickBooks.
Create vendor and independent contractor agreements and route through DocuSign to obtain signatures.
Public and Private Grant Support
Track grant proposal and reporting deadlines.
Prepare required financial reports and general documentation.
Prepare letters of acknowledgements when grant funds are received.
Maintain donor files including submitted proposals, letters of agreement, and interim and final reporting.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion:

Must have strong emotional intelligence and resiliency skills to lead and/or actively participate in advancing our work relative to racial, social, and economic justice.
Requirements/Qualifications
High School diploma required.
Accounting or bookkeeping training and/or coursework.
1-3 years professional experience with accounting and bookkeeping procedures and standards.
Previous experience or familiarity with administration of federally funded grant projects.
Proficiency with QuickBooks and Bill.com, or similar accounting software.
Solid organizational skill including detail-oriented, ability to move quickly between tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently, be flexible, and work well under pressure in a fast-paced team environment.
Proficient with Office365, including high proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Associates or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred.

Compensation:
Hourly Range:                  $21-23/hour
Position Status:               Full Time, Non-Exempt, Eligible for benefits
