What You Will Do:
General Summary
Under general supervision of the Payroll Systems Manager, the Business Systems Analyst will work closely with the Payroll Department and UMMS system entities to ensure highly effective and consistent use of the Kronos timekeeping and Infor Lawson ERP applications. This individual assists in maintaining the integrity of Payroll data/configuration within these systems, and coordinates with the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Financial Reporting (FIN) and Information Technology (IT) as needed to perform assigned duties. As a knowledgeable member of the Business Systems Analyst staff, he/she assists Payroll department staff in analyzing and resolving production issues. II. Principal Responsibilities and Tasks The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified.
1. Maintains Kronos system pay practice/work rule configuration and InforLawson pay codes, deduction codes and tax codes to ensure compliance with UMMS policy, FLSA and Federal and State regulatory requirements.
2. Supports various production initiatives, including but not limited to year-end activities, tax payments and filings, system tax updates, new regulatory requirements and new pay practice requests from UMMS entities
3. Assists Payroll department staff in analyzing and resolving production issues.
4. Provides routine technical support to staff and end users.
5. Conducts periodic audits of payroll and timekeeping transactions to ensure compliance with UMMS policies and regulatory requirements.
6. Works with management and end users to design and create queries and reports to support operational needs and audit requirements.
7. Configures, tests and validates of new payroll requirements and system changes including pay rules, work rules, pay codes etc..
8. Executes security access audits on a routine basis to ensure access compliance and support
9. Participates as team member in all Kronos related projects such as system upgrades, year-end set up, new entity migrations and pay practice changes. Collaborates with various stakeholders to identify enhancements to optimize system configuration, function and access.
10. Prepares applications documentation and instructions for staff and end users.
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Systems, Finance or related field required or 4 years of Payroll experience working with and/or maintaining timekeeping and ERP payroll applications in lieu of education requirement.
2. Strong aptitude and interest in timekeeping and payroll business systems applications.
3. Experience with Human Capital Management business system implementations and upgrades, including fit/gap analysis, design, configuration, testing, training and communications a plus.
4. Kronos timekeeping and/or InforLawson system experience a plus.
5. Experience using MS Office products.
6. Candidate should possess strong analytical and problem solving skills, excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively
7. Performs related duties as assigned.
