Position Purpose
Capital Bank is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to join our Rockville branch location. This role will assist the Branch Manager in performing all the customer service, operational and supervisory duties associated with running a branch office and competently supervise the branch office in the absence of the Branch Manager. Working in partnership with Business Bankers, Commercial Lenders and Treasury Management Specialists, the Assistant Branch Manager will assist customers with the establishment of new deposit accounts and ancillary deposit services. The Assistant Branch Manager will work collaboratively with the Operations Department to facilitate the servicing of customer accounts and online banking services. This is a sign-on Bonus eligible position.
Position Responsibilities
Provide excellent customer service and efficiently evaluate and resolve customer service issues - seeking help from supervisors when appropriate
Participate in the training and supervision of the branch staff
Perform monthly branch audits
Supervise the retention schedule of bank documents stored in the branch office
Assist with the preparation and review of Currency Transaction Reports
Ensure transactions are processed and new accounts are opened following established bank policies and procedure
Ensure all documentation for new accounts is accurate and meets all audit requirements
Construct written correspondence to customers using standard business format
In the absence of the Branch Manager, evaluate situations using good judgement and function independently within specific limits of authority; when appropriate, escalate issues to the Branch Administrator
Address staff performance issues, write and conduct staff performance evaluations and approve hours worked by non-exempt branch staff in the Bank's payroll system
Take responsibility for reporting problems with branch equipment and facilities to the appropriate persons within the organization
Actively participate in driving the deposit growth goals of the bank
Responsible for running a teller drawer and managing the branch cash vault
May be asked to work at other branch locations on a temporary basis, which may include filling in for an absent Branch Manager at that location.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's or Associates degree in relevant field preferred
One year of supervisory experience in a branch office of a bank or credit union
2-3 years of experience working in the financial services industry
Technical Knowledge and Skills
Proficient with Microsoft office software suite (Word and Excel)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Commitment to the delivery of superior customer service
Ability to work successfully with a wide variety of people in a team environment
Detail oriented
Ability to solve problems and use sound judgement
Strong interest in building a career in the Financial Services Industry
Willingness to work at other locations when necessary
