SBA Underwriter Job

Profile

Credit Officer who will be responsible for underwriting new SBA guaranteed loans in a competitive and expedient manner while complying with the bank's SBA underwriting standards, policies, and applicable state federal laws, rules, and regulations. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the needs of borrowers are met by underwriting the appropriate type of loan.
Qualifications/Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree (BA) or equivalent from a 4-year college or university.
*Must have over 7 years of SBA underwriting experience. Previous work related skill, knowledge or experience is required.
*Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Be detail oriented and well organized.
*Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties.
*Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
Knowledge:
Advanced level of work experience, knowledge and training in all SBA loan servicing activities and terminology, including SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
Knowledge of packaging, originating, and underwriting SBA loans.
Advanced knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank lending policies.
