AARP's Community, State and National Affairs (CSN) Group includes Government Relations, Programs, Volunteer Engagement, Community Outreach and Advocacy at the federal, state and local levels. It delivers on AARP's social mission by educating and engaging people 50-plus and their families, strengthening communities, and championing issues that help give people financial and health security.
The Financial Operations Analyst participates in the business unit or department financial budgeting process. Reconciles monthly bills, processes payments, and balances accounts. Participates in the management of contracts and ensures compliance with contract requirements. Administers the P-card program to facilitate the purchase of small dollar procurement actions.
Responsibilities
Designs, develops, and communicates business analytics that provide insight into AARP Driver Safety's operational performance, program metrics, and customer satisfaction.
Supports financial operations such as monthly close, quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting and planning.
Supports analysis for the development of strategic plans and program enhancements, new product development, and volunteer acquisition & retention.
Creates and manages purchase orders collaborating with numerous business leads to deliver products and services that support Driver Safety's goals.
Prepares and maintains records of incoming invoices and accurately processes and verifies invoice coding and preparation of vouchers.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting, and a minimum of 3 years of experience in financial roles.
Knowledge of business management, finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Experience with accounting and procurement operations.
Experience utilizing financial applications to enhance and automate reporting and analysis (i.e., Tableau).
Expert-level Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
Ability to motivate peers to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
Moderate noise environment.
Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)
AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Telework and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
