What You Will Do:

Under general supervision coordinates and provides analytical support on financial and operational issues as requested relating to BMDRP Grant. Undertakes special projects as assigned by the leadership team. Responsibilities include research, analysis, reporting and interpreting financial and statistical information to assist management in the formation, implementation and execution of the departmental business and operational planning. Collaborates with the University of Maryland School of Medicine to attain, understand and manage shared data
Principal Responsibilities and Tasks
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. These are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified.
1. Independently prepares various reports, surveys and clinical data.
2. Identifies, monitors and assesses best practices and/or national trends in outpatient care delivery which may impact on the missions, goals and objectives of Ambulatory Services. Analyzes and develops responses to these influences, and collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams to effectively institute necessary process changes.
3. Prepare, update, and monitor the clinic and practice Balanced Scorecards quarterly. Alert senior leadership, clinic managers and medical directors of performance changes.
4. Format data to meet regulatory needs and support the Quality Coordinator with regulatory reporting.
5. Serve as the liaison for projects in which participates with JHHS.
6. Develops national benchmark comparisons for financial, operational, clinical and service quality parameters (e.g. UHC, MGMA); supports senior leadership with associated decision making.
7. Complete monthly, quarterly, annual reports for performance.
8. Provides data, as needed, to vendor conducting Patient Satisfaction Surveys; summarize performance for senior leadership and recommend focused areas for improvement.
9. Prepares and issues reports and trending analyses and performs evaluations of new programs/ventures.
10. Prepare, and/or assist with the development of financial documents, processing, and budget execution. Provide analytical support for specific programs with respect to budget formulation, execution, and reporting
11. Maintain patient registries.
12. Contacts preparers of source documents to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data.
13. Support leadership team with Portfolio/EMR implementations and future optimizations.
14.Design analytical tools, assess needs, and create processes to support new initiatives (e.g. medical records documentation, referring physician communications, executive reporting).
What You Need to Be Successful:
Education and Experience
1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Health Care Administration or a related field or equivalent.
2. Two years of progressively responsible planning, financial analysis, or strategy development experience. Healthcare-related background is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. Ability to judge the level of confidentiality of information / activities involved in and exhibit integrity in use and/or dissemination of such information.
2. Proficiency in spreadsheets (i.e., Lotus, Microsoft Excel), databases (i.e., Microsoft Access), word processing programs (i.e., Microsoft Word), graphic/specialty and related software programs. Ability to teach others and act as a resource of expertise.
3. Ability to develop and evaluate data via use of computer analysis.
4. Excellent organization and problem-solving skills and team leadership skills are required to develop and implement efficient work processes.
5. Ability to work effectively in a matrix work environment.
Working Conditions
1. Weekend, shift work, holiday, on-call, and overtime may be required.
2. Work is performed in a standard office environment.
