to support the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) in Washington, DC.
The contractor shall provide support in data analytics (including descriptive and predictive analytics and data mining), large data manipulation, data visualization and use of data analytic tools. Activities which the contractor may be tasked to perform include gathering requirements from stakeholders, conducting financial data analysis in a Big Data environment, and creating reports and documentations.

SECURITY CLEARANCE:
Ability to pass a Special Agreement Check (SAC) and a National Agency Check and Inquires (NACI) Background Investigation
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree
CERTIFICATIONS AND TOOLS
: A minimum of 2 years of experience developing data-driven applications in Python, and/or other data management tools. Highly experienced with data manipulation and transformation. E
xperience using statistical programs languages such as SAS and R.
Experience in Finance a plus.
EXPERIENCE LEVEL:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in data application development, data analysis and data management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Functionally, the candidate will be responsible for:
Assisting business users, economists, statisticians, and others, as required, to support various analytic needs.
Creating data reports and/or visualizations to present the data in ways that are meaningful, actionable and understandable to the customer.
Designing and developing Python-based software applications to handle the ingest, management and testing of agency data.
Independently designing data applications based on existing requirements and handling all aspects of the software development lifecycle, with specific focus on data quality and validation.
Designing and developing reports leveraging a variety of business intelligence software, with specific focus on Python visualization libraries and Microstrategy.
Performing ad hoc data analysis including financial modeling, Value at Risk (VaR) modeling, and Machine Learning.
Conducting performance tuning and troubleshooting on existing data analytics applications and SAS stored procedures.
Working closely with the customer to gather and document project requirements specific to data-driven applications and the manipulation of data for presentation and/or testing.
Participating in facilitated meetings between stakeholders at CFTC which may include regular status meetings, user acceptance testing meetings and ad hoc development discussions.
