Job Summary
The Centre for Climate Finance & Investment (CCFI),
is hiring for a Senior Research Fellow to introduce, lead and direct research exploring capital markets-led solutions to global climate change including for example climate risk, adaptation and resilience, and financing the net-zero carbon transition.   
The Senior Research Fellow will play a leading role in the Singapore Green Finance Centre (SGFC)
which was co-founded by the CCFI at Imperial College Business School and Singapore Management University in 2020, with partners including the Monetary Authority of Singapore and nine financial institutions. The SGFC is creating an ecosystem of practitioners working towards capital markets-led solutions to global climate change in Asia and is undertaking new research and educational programmes.
The growing field of climate finance means there will be much collaboration and interdisciplinary work with other institutions, the Grantham Institute at Imperial College London, financial industry partners, and other research initiatives such the CCFI’s involvement in the UK’s Centre for the Greening of Finance & Investment (CGFI).
Duties and responsibilities
You will be responsible for the identification, planning, design, leadership and delivery of a high-quality programme of research. The role will involve a high degree of teamwork and interdisciplinary research. As part of the duties you will also lead and supervise junior researchers and short-duration contributors and undertake project management for SGFC and other high priority research activities.
Essential requirements
You will have developed a substantial reputation in the field through extensive, effective and innovative original research work and a clear record of impact shown, evidenced by research grant income, publications, and invitations to speak at national and international conferences, and general public dissemination of knowledge.
Financial industry experience or associations; experience producing applied research for industry audiences and impact; and some teaching and course development experience; as well as evidence of leadership and management skills is preferable.
Extensive research experience should have covered research tools, ranging from qualitative to quantitative data collection and analysis and experience in a broad set of capital markets disciplines, including banking, asset management, and trading.
Imperial considers the SRF profile to be commensurate to that of a Reader/Associate Professor.

This role is full-time, fixed term contact for 3 years, with the opportunity to extend.
