Key Responsibilities
Summary
: The Legal Executive Assistant will provide high-quality client and attorney support, performing administrative tasks, coordinating events and responding to inquiries from Firm clients. Must have the confidence and technical skills to support a fast-paced Associate, Partner or Senior Partner desk. Someone who has a willingness to work hard as a member of a great team and, work well-paid overtime. A desire to take your career to the next level, in a top firm.
Provide executive level legal support to a Managing Partner; Senior Partner or Partner level Attorney.
Function with autonomy and work on special projects with each case and client
Handle complex Legal Assistant activities (may be highly confidential and require discretion)
Performs research as directed by attorneys
Interface and establish ongoing positive business relationship with clients
Communicate effectively on busy, multiple telephone lines
Assist with time entry and billing as needed; set up invoices and statements, enter and track attorneys billable hours, create reports and maintain records
Draft and proofread correspondence, court papers and other legal and non-legal documents; perform blacklining and redlining; create table of contents and table of authorities
Coordinate travel for Clients, Witnesses and or Experts; research cost effective travel and alternatives
Type, format, edit and finalize legal documents
Compose routine letters and memoranda and prepare reports
Assist in the preparation of time-keeping, travel, expense reports and other personnel records;
Schedule and arrange meetings and conferences
Required Skills
3 to 4 years of legal secretarial, practice assistant or executive legal assistant level support in a law firm or financial institution
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to remain calm and function under pressure in a constantly changing environment
Ability to communicate effectively, dispassionately and diplomatically
Excellent attendance, punctual and flexible to work overtime
Ability to collaborate smoothly with many other people and departments
Detail oriented with strong day-to-day organizational skills
Ability to be proactive, organize/prioritize work and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
