Finance Coordinator, NewsHour Productions (2)
Full-time, Regular
Reports to: Director, Production Operations
ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you'll be integral in maintaining financial accountability for NewsHour Productions LLC, the PBS NewsHour and Washington Week operating budgets and multiple grants that support these ventures, including any special event coverages. You'll be verifying and coding invoices, expense reports, and cash advances and entering expenses/accruals into our accounting tracking database. You'll laisse with the WETA Finance team and production vendors. As needed, we'll look to you to provide data and/or financial reports.
YOUR FIRST 90 DAYS
You'll get to know your team and the wider organization, and how each group functions independently as well as part of the whole. You'll understand our processes and learn our systems. As you become more comfortable with our processes, you'll find ways to help make the team more efficient.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
You will develop a proficiency in creating and processing check requests, cash advances and accruals. You will gain functional understanding of production expenses, Concur and Great Plains operating systems and ability to allocate appropriate project codes. You will be able to successfully onboard new vendors for invoice processing and serve as a point of contact for vendor inquiries on payment process or vendor document requirement questions.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Positive attitude with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Understanding of revenue, expense, budgeting and forecasting techniques.
Experience and understanding of an accounting software, grant administration, and budget reporting, are all pluses.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field, at least two years' experience in cost accounting, including preparing, tracking, and analyzing budgets; or equivalent combination of training/education and experience.
Proof of full dosage of a COVID-19 vaccination is required for all positions that will be working onsite, or may reasonably or occasionally be called to work onsite.
